Even though I create many memories with my pups every day, celebrating their birthdays is one of my favorite things. I usually get a photo session so I can go back to those pictures anytime I want and remember that special day. I also love getting them a themed cake. I’ve been doing this since Lola’s 1st birthday. My dogs are food-driven, which makes it easy to get them to look at the camera for a great photo

Here are some tips to create a fantastic themed birthday for your pup:

1.- Think of the Theme: Start by choosing a fun theme for the celebration.
2.- Pick 3 Colors: Select three colors that match your theme (pastels, vivid colors, B&W, neutrals).
3.- Order or Make the Cake: This is my favorite part! I usually order a custom cake from a local dog shop near where I live, and it has never disappointed me. Her cakes are the CUTEST things! She customizes them based on the theme you picked and adds her special touch

4.- Get a Special Bandana: We all get new clothes for our birthdays, so why not our dogs as well? My favorite brands are PUPLOVE CO (code: LOLA15) and THE DELUXE PUP (code: LOLA). I choose bandanas that match the theme colors.

5.- Find Decor on Amazon: Search for “birthday pawty decor” for some inspiration. However, there aren’t many cute options, so you might have better luck searching based on your specific theme. Here is a link to our amazon page. Make sure to order everything at least two weeks before your pup’s birthday or the celebration date. That way, you’ll have everything ready in time for the photoshoot.

These small steps can make your pup’s birthday truly special and create memories you’ll cherish forever!
